Charlotte Africa Business Week Returns in 2015 (Press Release)

February 13, 2015, Sandton, South Africa

Since Charlotte Africa Business Week (CABW) launched in 2012, the Charlotte metro region has formalized a partnership with South Africa and the rest of the Continent. The memorandum of understanding between Charlotte Regional Partnership (CRP) andIndustrial Development Corporation (IDC) of South Africa has opened direct doors for US businesses and investors into project development and contract opportunities in industrial and infrastructure sectors in Africa.

With IDC’s MOU with EXIM Bank, as well as other US agencies soon to be announced, Charlotte is a key hinge to a three-fold cord, including IDC and US agencies, which catalyzes trade, business, investment, and social flows between the US and Africa. This cements the mandate of the Charlotte Africa Initiative, led by The Afribiz Foundation.

Charlotte Africa Business Week 2015 will run from September 28 to October 2, 2015. It will consist of action-oriented workshops with both follow-up strategies and structures in place to plug US companies, institutions, and investors into live projects and contract opportunities on the Continent. The workshops are designed around the Navigating Business in Africa roadmap and toolkit, which assists in developing both a focused plan for plugging into opportunities on the Continent.

Each of the five days will consist of workshops involving industry, government, and expert panels sharing strategies, tools, insights, and connections with clear paths to execute in order to participate in projects and contract opportunities on the Continent.
